Cleaning Robot Mop and Vacuum Combo

Cleaning the Drip Tray
If your robot mop and vacuum has a dock on its own that doubles as a water tank, it will have to be cleaned regularly. The dock can collect grit, dirt and debris that will need to be cleaned and removed after the mop has finished. A majority of our choices include a self-cleaning function that you can use via the app or on the mop. This keeps the tank clean and helps prevent mildew.
It is also important to clean the area of the dock where the pads are cleaned. If the dock is left wet, it could be slimy and smell. If your model is equipped with disposable or washable mop pads make sure you are washing them in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning cycles. Hybrid vacuum and mop units that have brushes on the sides and bottom of the unit are also affected. Clean the brushes and clean them using a cloth or rag after each cleaning cycle.
Some of the more advanced robot vacuum-mop combos we've tested contain sensors that help them navigate floors and avoid obstacles, but it's still important to wipe down those sensor areas regularly. This can keep dirt and grime from blocking the sensors and causing inaccurate readings.
While most robot vacuums and mop units require some effort, they are a great option for busy homeowners. They will keep your floors looking beautiful and eliminate the need for lifting heavy objects. They also save you time and energy, which is the most valuable resource you have at home.
There are a few companies working to create better vacuum-mop robotics however they are far from our standard. We expect these machines to improve over time just as the previous robot vacuums did.
Brushes to be cleaned

Some mopping robots discard their dirty pads and drop them into a base which automatically emptys into a garbage drawer making it unnecessary to manually wash the pads or refill the tank.
